Susan Shiring, MSSW, LCSW
Susan Shiring is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in private practice for over 10 years. Prior to pursuing her Master of Science in Social Work, Susan was a Certified Public Accountant who worked at Arthur Andersen and a local Dallas firm. As a social worker and therapist , she worked in a variety of settings prior to entering private practice, including Victims Assistance, community mental health and ten years as a social worker/therapist on an inpatient psychiatric unit. This led her to Dialectical Behavioral Therapy because of the studies finding it helpful to many clients with multiple kinds of issues.
Susan began training in DBT in 2003 and has continued to train along with other members of the Dallas DBT team since that time. Susan is passionate about providing quality care and giving clients concrete skills that they can use in their daily lives rather than just “talk therapy”. She provides therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder, mood disorders such as Major Depression and Bipolar Disorder, anxiety and panic disorders.
