The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence.

When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers. –Thich Nhat Hanh

Nancy was a cherished colleague and a gifted and talented clinician. She was passionate about her work as a therapist and was devoted to her clients. Providing compassion and understanding, she excelled at giving the gift of her presence to those suffering. Radiating from Nancy’s office one could often hear “heartfelt laughter” from both her and her client. As artist Britt Conley describes, “The heartfelt laugh. The one laugh that effortlessly fills the depths of your heart and bubbles up from such depth and with such effervescence that it leaves you entirely disarmed and open to inhale everything around you with an honesty that is rarely felt.” Nancy’s presence provided rich soil for clients to struggle, change, and find peace and more acceptance.

This Body is Not Me- Thich Nhat Hanh

This body is not me; I am not limited by this body,

I am life without boundaries.

I have never been born and I have never died.

Look at the ocean and the sky filled with stars, manifestations from my wondrous true mind.

Since before time, I have been free.

Birth and death are only doors through which we pass, sacred thresholds on our journey.

Birth and death are a game of hide- and seek.

So laugh with me; hold my hand,

let us say good-bye; say good-bye, to meet again soon.

We meet today.

We will meet again tomorrow.

We will meet at the source every moment.

We meet each other in all forms of life.
